Quality Sleep Mattress Comfort Scale
Mattress Comfort Scale
What is a comfort scale?
Is it the firmness? Is it the support level? Yes and Yes.
The mattress comfort scale rating is primarily a firnness rating, but it will also give you an estimate of how much in-the-bed versus above-the-bed your body will be.
Which is better, firm or soft?
Imagine the firmness level of 10 which would feel like lying on a board with only a thin blanket on top, or perhaps a really firm carpeted floor. Your body will be more above-the-bed.
Now imagine stacking 10 fluffy down comforters on top of each other and laying on top or floating on a cloud. That would feel more like a 1 on the comfort scale. Your body will be more in-the-bed.
Usually somewhere in between is a good level of comfort and support.
What is comfort?
Comfort is the initial feeling that says WOW this is comfortable and you should experience fewer pressure points on your body.
What is support?
Support is your body being in more of a natural position with your spine closer to it's natural alignment.
Please keep in mind that the ranges for primary sleeping positions below are preferred by the majority, and some sleepers prefer firmer or softer than the average.
